September 5 – The Feast of St. Teresa of Calcutta
On the final day (the day will eventually arrives at the door of every single individual on earth), according to Matt 25, when Jesus Christ returns, the king will confront all individuals with these questions, “Did you give your neighbor food when he was hungry? Did you give him something to drink when he was thirsty? Did you welcome him when he was a stranger? He was naked, did you give him clothing? He was sick, did you take care of him? He was in prison, did you visit him?”
It is very interesting for me to discover that all these questions, that Jesus Christ will confront me with on the final day, virtually share one common denominator, that is, KINDNESS. Blessed are we when that day comes, and we discover we are standing at the right side of Jesus Christ: because we have hearts, so we have hands and then eternal life.
St. Teresa of Calcutta undoubtedly answers “Yes” to all the questions confronted by the King of glory!
Yes, indeed, those who have clean hands and pure hearts will enter heaven, for the Psalmist in Psalm 24 has declared, “Those who have clean hands and pure hearts, shall ascend the hill of the Lord and stand in his holy place” (v.3).
St. Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us!
